As 800 Words fades into the past, I’m shifting my attention to my next project, a short film called Dinner Date, written and directed by Paul von Stoetzel and featuring Heather Raiter.

Here’s the premise:  My character places an online ad, which Heather’s character answers, looking for a voluntary victim to be eaten by him.  It’s the sort of twisted story you’d expect from Paul, and while it is fiction, it’s inspired by the true story of Armin Meiwes, a German man who did just that in 2001.

From the Wiki:

Meiwes and the victim jointly attempted to eat the victim’s severed penis, Meiwes killed his victim and proceeded to eat a large amount of his flesh. Because of his deeds, Meiwes is also known as the “Rotenburg Cannibal” or “Der Metzgermeister” (Master Butcher).

Thankfully, there will be no genital-eating in this film…which, knowing Paul, is rather surprising.
