2009 is the International Year of Astronomy, the 400th anniversary of Galileo turning his telescope to the heavens.  To commemorate this, the folks with the International Astronomy Union are producing Galileoscopes:  high-quality, inexpensive replicas of Galileo’s telescope.  They ship later this month (if they’d been available, we totally would’ve used one in the show), and they’re just $15.
