Whilst digging around the internet, thinking about my next show, I discovered interesting (and potentially exciting or distressing) information.

Philip K. Dick’s novels and short stories have been adapted into films, sometimes with relative success (Blade Runner, A Scanner Darkly, Minority Report), and some…not so much (Next, Paycheck, Screamers).  There are a few Dick-inspired films currently in the works:

The Owl in Daylight, currently in production, starring Paul Giamatti as Philip K. Dick.
Radio Free Albemuth, in post-production for a 2009 release. The cast includes Alanis Morissette.
The Adjustment Bureau, starring Matt Damon, set for 2010.

*shrug* That’s all I got.  How do you feel about these?

Since you’re blogging about mr. dick, I gotta say, Paul Giamatti is not my ideal PKD. Every geeky guy thinks he can play PKD (usually they’re stumpy and small too.) PKD was 6’3″ and pretty charismatic, actually pretty cute until the end when he really wasn’t leaving his house ever. All respect to Paul, but someone else would be a better choice. I always liked the idea of Martin Donovan…

Yeah, as much as I love Paul Giamatti, I’m inclined to agree with you. I think people just picture a nervous, neurotic, bearded guy. But then again, Jim Carrey was a perfect Andy Kaufman, despite being a completely wrong type.
