Hullo, there. Just a general update about goings-on. Here goes.

One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest opened this past weekend, and the audience response has been wonderful. If you have the chance, come to St. Cloud and see the show! We close February 1st. You can get tickets and more info here: www.ppfive.com

Cuckoo’s Nest actor Grant Henderson endorses this course of action.

I drove straight from our first Cuckoo’s Nest matinee to a rehearsal for Stand in It with Me, an educational theatre program not unlike my oft-blogged-about gig with GTC Dramatic Dialogues. Stand in It with Me is produced by Exposed Brick Theatre, and in essence, it’s an individually tailored theatre piece presented to area schools. Each show is designed to address specific issues relevant to that individual school based on faculty and student interviews. This Friday, we’re performing for Blake Middle School, and the gist of the show deals with diversity.

I’ve worked on a Stand in It with Me performance once before, just over a year ago, and it was a good experience. I enjoy working with the co-artistic directors Suzy Messerole and Aamera Siddiqui. Good people. Good program.

This week also saw the return of Raye Birk’s scenework class, “The Actor’s Workout,” to the Guthrie’s line-up. I took this Monday afternoon class last year, and I love it. It’s important to continually work on your acting in a self-directed way, and in a studio sort of environment. The class seems to have doubled in size over the break, which is fun. I’m excited to put some more scenes together, though I know it’ll be difficult to find the time to rehearse scenes outside of class.

So…there’s that. This is what happens when I feel the urge to blog, but don’t have anything to blog about. I could blog about the inauguration, but it would just be redundant. Oh, well. You get a status report on my life instead.
