Storm Gustav poised to become a hurricane

It’s expected to make landfall in Louisiana, West of New Orleans, as a Category 3 hurricane. And then, there’s this bit from the article:

Gustav was expected to come ashore as President George W. Bush’s Republican Party holds its convention to select Sen. John McCain as its nominee for the November presidential election.

OK, how much more heavyhanded is this planet going to get with its symbolism?
