Happy 4th of July!
Apparently, MSNBC has decided to celebrate Independence Day with a marathon of To Catch a Predator. Enjoy!
…
Our call time was a decadent 12:00 PM today. We ran each act twice, and the show is in damn good shape, considering it was only the fourth day of rehearsal. I can’t wait until we open…which, incidentally, is in five days.
This is only the second Neil Simon play I’ve done. The last one also happened to be my first play. We did Broadway Bound in high school, and I played Stanley to Joey Faust’s Eugene. That was November, 1997. There’s a distinct style and rhythm to Neil Simon’s work, and it feels very familiar to slip into it after almost 11 years.
Tonight, we’re going onto the roof of the theatre to watch fireworks. One of the cast from The Music Man is hosting a bonfire afterwards, but I think I might skip it and get some sleep, run lines, or do something else low-key.
Tomorrow, we’re just doing a run-through at 2:30 PM, and I may use some of my free time to further explore Bemidji.
