I like being in this department.
“Uh, hey,” I called to Travis from across the print room. “At the risk of sounding like a nerd (and I know that’s a surprise)…Is that, by any chance, a Wookiee bowcaster?”
The familiar, black crossbow shape of Chewbacca’s weapon from the Star Wars movies caught my eye as I was binding some spec books. It was [...]
Self-Googling
So, periodically, I Google myself to keep track of what someone (a director, a castmate, a secret admirer, what have you) might find if they did the same. What I find never ceases to irritate me more than it delights me, and sometimes it surprises me.
Speaking of surprise Google results: Months ago, while bored at work, I swiped an [...]
Scaring the Danes
Retina, an MCTC student film in which I appeared, has apparently found distribution in Denmark. It’ll be included in a compilation DVD entitled The Horror Vault next year.
Here’s the IMDb page: http://imdb.com/title/tt0369424/

in disguise
(transcribed from a handwritten entry from 12/13/07)
On the tarmac in Chicago, between Minneapolis and New Orleans.

I think I was going from Minneapolis to [...]
A Quickie at the Acadia
At Acadia Cafe
About to see Quickies, which

Here in the cafe, waiting for the theatre to open, drinking a Surly Bender.
Ran into two people I know,
But they were busy,
Working on Shakespeare text.
One of them is a good friend,
The other didn’t remember that we knew each other.
I forget [...]
doucheteria post no. 1
I am at Figlio, which is
a bar/restaurant in uptown Minneapolis’ Calhoun Square.
It is trendy.
Not actually trendy, but
The kind of place douchebags “slam brews”
and overly-made-up chicks preen.
Suburban trendy.
I spontaneously generated a term for places like this:
Doucheteria.
Examples of Doucheterias in Minneapolis are;
The Independent
Williams
Drink
A douchebag
(Actually, despite his shout of “I’m gonna slam some brews” into his cell, is [...]
