NTC Tour – D+1 (cont.)
As it turns out, the Oak Grove show went fine. There was one teacher and about a dozen fifth-graders, which made for an intimate show. It was more of a conversation than a show, which was fine, though it could’ve been higher-energy and more polished. The kids and the teacher responded positively, so hooray!
Mike and I returned to the AmericInn for lunch talks. We finally decided to just hop in the Spectra and drive up and down until we find something that strikes our fancy. We had just pulled out of the hotel parking lot when Mike said, “What do we think about the Snap Dragon?” referring to the Chinese buffet directly across the street from the AmericInn. Snap Dragon it was. I’m glad we drove.
On to Wahpeton, ND!
At 2:00 PM, we performed for several hundred kids in a gymnasium. Very different experience. It was a raucous, high-energy show. The audiences of both of today’s shows were equally engaged and positive, but going from Oak Grove to Wahpeton was like going from open-mic night at a coffee shop to a stadium rock show. Also, a representative from our client/sponsor, North Dakota Securities Department, was there and seemed to like it.
Back to the Moorhead AmericInn!
Ran on the elliptical machine while watching Frasier in the AmericInn’s fitness center. Returned some e-mails. Tonight, we went over to Mike’s relatives’ place for some tasty homemade pizza.
Now: Bed.
