Michael (to Toussaint, while driving): “…I mean, beer is mostly water.”

Me (from the back seat): “So are people.”

Michael was explaining to Toussaint how domestic breweries make their product. Apparently, Budweiser starts off with a really strong beer, then dumps a lot of water into it to make regular Budweiser, then dumps even more water into it to make Bud Light. He also speculated (and this is his own theory) that King Cobra, being a Budweiser product, is just the initial, strong Budweiser before they cut it with water to make regular Budweiser. I bet he’s right. It makes financial sense, anyway.

During our show at Sonoma State, I tried some new things with the talkbacks. I played the date rapist as more defensive than usual, and finally exploded at some girl in the audience, which I generally don’t do in that talkback. Earlier, when I was playing a college kid who drinks to the point of passing out, I started the talkback acting like an obnoxious drunk idiot instead of the usual quiet, trying-not-to-vomit way I usually do it. I then gradually, and with increasing length and frequency, mentally checked out, putting my head down or trying not to puke, until I eventually pass out. Not only was it more fun to do, but it played better, I think. I’ll keep it.

Also, we need to work in the “beer is mostly water,” and “so are people,” lines somewhere.
